About GT Locksmiths
GT Locksmiths has been part of the Carmarthenshire community since 2005, when Geoff Thomas set up the business after more than 15 years working in the family ironmongers and locksmith trade. That’s a lot of locks, a lot of keys, and a lot of happy customers. In May 2023, Geoff’s son Oliver joined the team, bringing with him a Mechanical Engineering degree from Swansea University. Between them, they bring a level of hands-on skill and local knowledge that simply cannot be matched.
GT Locksmiths holds approval from the Master Locksmiths Association (MLA), which means the business has passed specialist training, MLA examinations, and regular independent inspections. When you call Geoff and Oliver, you know you’re getting qualified, vetted professionals, not someone who’s just picked up a set of picks.
The shop is based at Unit 3, Parc Bryers, Dryslwyn, just off the A40 at Dryslwyn Crossroads (the old Mazda garage, if you know it) sitting neatly between Carmarthen and Llandeilo. Shop hours run Monday to Friday 9am–4pm and Saturday 9am–1pm, though do bear in mind that Geoff and Oliver may be out on a callout. For anything urgent, the 24/7 line is always answered.

New Locks and Lock Replacements
If you’ve recently moved into a property, had a break-in, or simply feel it’s time to tighten things up, fitting new locks is one of the smartest things you can do. GT Locksmiths supplies and fits British Standard locks for both domestic and commercial properties, giving you solid, reliable security you can count on. They also carry out security surveys if you want a professional eye cast over your whole property.
UPVC Door Lock Specialists
Modern homes across Carmarthenshire are full of UPVC and composite doors, and the multipoint locking systems they use are a world apart from a traditional mortice lock. GT Locksmiths has built up one of the largest stockholdings of UPVC locking mechanisms and parts in the area, which means they can usually get your door working again on the first visit. Common UPVC problems they fix every day:
- Door that won’t lock or unlock
- Handle that’s difficult to lift when the door is closed
- Key stuck and not coming out
- Handle that has snapped off
- Door that won’t stay shut
If your UPVC door is giving you trouble, call 01558 823355.
